MEET THOMAS ROSS
LEADERSHIP
Thomas Ross is committed to what is best for Joplin and the people who call it home. Following the 2011 tornado, he dedicated nearly a decade of service to the City of Joplin, working firsthand in the rebuilding and growth of the community. During that time, he gained a clear understanding of the city’s infrastructure challenges, the demands created by a growing population, and the evolving nature of public safety and crime in the region.
While serving in an engineering capacity, Thomas worked to address these issues wherever possible, but he also recognized the limitations of the role. That experience shaped his belief that lasting, meaningful solutions require strong leadership, accountability, and a broader ability to effect change, driving his decision to seek elected office.
FAMILY FOCUS
Thomas is deeply devoted to his family. Pictured with him are his wife, Suzanne, and their two children. As a lifelong resident of Joplin, Thomas is committed to ensuring the community remains a safe, strong place for families to grow and thrive.
His decision to run for office is driven by a desire to create a better future for his children and for all families in Joplin. Having witnessed the challenges facing the community, including rising crime, homelessness, and substance abuse, Thomas believes it is time for steady, responsible leadership focused on restoring safety, opportunity, and quality of life.
GRASSROOTS
This campaign is built from the ground up by engaged members of the community and supported by neighbors who believe in local leadership. It represents citizens coming together to ensure the people of the Joplin area have a genuine voice and strong representation in Jefferson City.
Rooted in grassroots involvement, the campaign reflects the shared belief that effective government begins with listening to the community and advocating for its priorities at the state level.
